Gutters: Good, Bad and Ugly

Good: Gutters protect your home from water damage by collecting rainwater from your roof and channeling it away from your home’s foundation, driveways, and porches.

Bad: Traditional, open-top gutters also collect leaves and debris. This causes the gutters to clog, leading to ineffective water drainage and potentially severe damage to your home.

Ugly: Clogged gutters can cause widespread damage to your home’s foundation and roof, as well as water staining and even rotting fascia board. Without a leaf-free gutter system, you’ll have to continually risk climbing a ladder to keep your gutters clean.

Mid-Atlantic Gutters & Roofing Clog-Free Solution

The K-guard Leaf Free System is a completely engineered, fully integrated, leaf-free gutter system. No other system can offer the strength, durability, capacity, and attractiveness of K-Guard.

Self-flushing Gutters dual drains:

Our gutters are equipped with a front and rear drain for more water collection. This unique design causes the water to come into the gutter at two different angles, creating the water inside the gutter to travel at a higher rate, thereby flushing out any debris that may occasionally get in. Our system’s rear drainage channel helps prevent wind-blown water from backing up under your roof’s edge and freezing, so the potential for ice damming is far lower than with other systems.

Strength:

The K-Guard Leaf Free System is built around our patented, all-weather, high-strength polymer hangers. With this unique angled design, the hanger can support vertical loads of 70 lbs. per hanger, and our hood can support 60 lbs. of pressure per square foot. The hangers are screwed through the fascia board and into the rafter tails, set every 24 inches inside the gutter. These hangers fully support the front and back of the gutter/hood as well as keeping the gutter from sagging or losing its form in any way.

Durability:

The lifespan of the K-Guard Leaf Free System is practically unlimited. Made of heavy-duty .032 aluminum, the base material will never corrode. Our patented hangers give our gutters the strength to withstand virtually any weather conditions.

Capacity:

Due to its oversized construction, our K-Guard Leaf Free System can handle more water than any other system. And since our gutters accommodate the larger 3×4-inch downspouts, the K-Guard Leaf Free System easily handles severe rain and flushes out any small pieces of debris that may occasionally enter the system.

High Back Hem:

The K-Guard Leaf Free System has a high back hem. This unique design allows us to install the gutters up under the drip edge, which gives added protection to your fascia board and prevents any debris, water, or ice from getting behind the gutters. No more drips coming from behind your gutters! No more rotten fascia boards! And since we do not interfere with your roof, there is no voided roof warranty or damaged shingles!!

Attractiveness:

In contrast to the sharp corners and vertical faces of most gutter systems, the smooth, curved appearance of the K-Guard Leaf Free System compliments and adds beauty to your home. Often referred to as having crown molding on the exterior of your home! Ask your sales representative about our variety of colors.

Removable Flip-Up Hood

Our K-Guard Leaf Free System is far easier to install than any one-piece system. The open gutter is hung first, and then the hood is attached. If the hood is ever damaged by hail, ladders, or tree branches, it is easily removed and replaced without having to dismantle the gutter and downspouts. If the homeowner is curious to see if the gutters work the way we say they do, they can lift the hood and peek inside. The hood can be removed to facilitate a retrofit installation of heating cable to prevent icicle formation.
